Modification Series. St. Brigid. Details

I am sorry to break my Wednesday-Friday-Sunday posts pattern, but this week was so challenging that I found it really hard to keep up.

FO - St. Brigid

Hand-knit Cable Cardigan

I am DONE!!! Our first modification series is over - my very heavily modified version of St. Brigid cable sweater is off the needles! Today is the last day of Stash Down KAL and I was desperate to finish it by the end of it. Today I woke up at 5 to get 1 hour and a half of knitting time before work, rushed back home after it, was knitting, casting off and trimming like crazy for two hours, grabbed the cardigan, the dog and the camera, was practically running to the nearby hills to catch the last glimpses of sunshine to capture the texture, spent almost an hour trying to get the perfect angles... Now I can breathe... Oh my, I must be really in love with knitting :)I was really surprised that all my plans worked out! I don't even know if it's still St. Brigid, I took only some cable panels from it and then my mods drove me so far away from the original.

Heavily modified version of St. Brigid by Alice StarmoreYarn. My stash yarn - 100% local cotton, double strand. As I ran out of the darker shade, I had to modify my modifications :) and switch to lighter grey. I am so happy it happened - I really love the gradient moss stitch border! Limitations definitely make me think out of the box!Hand-knit Cable CardiganFit. Knee-length double-tapered modified drop-shoulder cardigan.Hand-knit Cable CardiganDesign detailsTexture.
