Soho Dress

FO - Soho Dress
This weekend Elena and I went to explore the city. Downtown is one of my favorite places here, full of small art galleries, cafes and little souvenir shops. We took the camera, wore our knit dresses, freshly finished Soho dress and Violet gift, and ventured to create our another knit photostory... The yarn makes this dress so so easy to wear. Though it's really hot in town right now, I felt completely comfortable walking in this linen/cotton/silk blend. The dress is of my favorite neutral colors palette, which makes it a very versatile garment. I don't want to take it off! I can't thank Purl Soho enough for giving me the idea to play around with side panels! I didn't want to make them too wide so they don't interrupt the look of a garment from the front or back, but act as a "surprise" on the side. After many adjustments I finally got the length of the purl section exactly the way I wanted - it stands out from the main piece, but isn't too short. If you are thinking of knitting something like this, make sure that you set the length of these side panels first! On our way we met wonderful people local artists, musicians and lovely ladies :) This dress will carry so many memories. The feeling of amazing yarn in my hands, the pattern modification experience, the excitement of creating something new and unusual and of course this girls evening out walking in the soft afternoon light, meeting new people, finding new places and just enjoying this wonderful life. Feeling so grateful... Thank you, dear Elena, for this wonderful knitting story. I will cherish it forever! I vote for Elena to be a photographer for Vogue Knitting! :) There is nobody who "sees" me the way she does.
I hope you had a lovely week!
