Friday Inspiration. John Rocha.

This week I am inspired by a Hong Kong born designer John Rocha. Though crochet is not his main focus, some pieces beautifully show the infinite possibilities of a crochet stitch.These architectural dresses from spring/summer 2011 collection demonstrate how you can play around with simple crochet circles. Here crochet motifs are like "bricks" used to put the whole piece together.I guess the motifs are supposed to be pretty stiff to hold the shape and hold the dress's silhouette. It can be a very interesting free style project where you can experiment with shapes and colors to get an absolutely unique one-of-a-kind piece.
