Desert Cardigan
This year I revisited one of my older projects - Alina Cardigan - that was created for YOTH company several years ago. The reason being - a hand knit gift to my dear friend that was begging me (and sometimes blackmailing me, ha) for the hand knit sweater. I definitely took my time with that one, but it is finally off the needles and I am more than happy with it. The color I chose is definitely out of my usual color scheme, but I know how well my friend would wear it. I used 100% Peruvian wool in Dusty Rose by We Are Knitters, you might recognize it from my The Edge sweater.
It has that desert feel to it and we had some fun with my wonderful photographer Talia shooting these images in the middle of the rock formations just right outside of town and close to my office. I hope you enjoy this knitwear diary just as much as I do!

Staircase effect
This stitch pattern was so fun to play with, creating the gradual staircase effect both on the back and the front of the piece
The length
The length is easily adjustable and if you want to continue knitting in pattern and create a dramatic heels length, it is very easy to do - the pattern will guide through these modifications
Sleeve Details
Of course, I HAD TO mirror the stitch pattern on the sleeve as well
Neckband
One of my favorite details - a curved neckband with extra fabric added to the top part of it (with the help of the short rows). Creates such a cozy beautiful effect.
