Friday Knitting and Crochet Inspiration. Agostina Bianchi.
Happy Friday!
Today's inspiration is a young knitwear designer Agostina Bianchi. Her own label was born in 2001 and for more than a decade the designer has been creating unique knitwear pieces that are both fashion forward and ethical. Agostina, as a human, animal and environment advocate, makes sure to bring the awareness in each part of the clothing production process - from the raw material to the final product.Agostina sources the reusable leftovers from the spinning production to create her collections and works with Indian community of the north of Argentina reviving their long-forgotten textile traditions. In her collections Agostina uses machine knitting, hand knitting, crochet, loom techniques.I really love how the designer plays with traditional techniques and uses them in a new and fresh way. For example, this fair isle jacket with the "wrong" side facing. Love how the floats create additional texture and slightly "blurred" colors effect. What a great idea to try!My absolute favorite is the long crochet dress from brand's spring/summer 2016 collection. The colors are just perfect together and remind me of fresh sea breeze.
