Dusty Pink - The Petite Wool
While the new cozy textured sweater is in the hands of my amazing test knitters, I would love to show you the yarn photo story I created for Petite Wool that I used for this new design. I have been a fan of We Are Knitters for a long time and was lucky to try one of their kits one day. I was thrilled when the team offered me their yarns for the review this summer and gave me the full freedom of creating something original with it. As you might remember the first project was Rain sweater in their beautiful Pima Cotton. This time I worked with The Petite Wool - 100% Peruvian highland wool. The yarn is something between worsted and aran weight and knits up very quickly. The spun is pretty loose which makes the fabric light and doesn't make it bulky. The Petite Wool comes in 100 gr balls, the yardage is generous and for accessories, like a beanie or a snood, you will need 1-2 balls. I used 6 skeins for a textured sweater with a very generous ease. The wool is so soft and doesn't feel itchy at all, I can easily wear it next to the bare skin - though my skin isn't sensitive to the wool in general, so I cannot speak for everybody. As always I started the new design with dozens of swatches, trying different combinations and finding the right way to marry the fiber and stitches. The Petite Wool creates a great stitch definition and knits like butter - even in the pre-blocking state the stitches looked even and nicely defined.Though the swatch process can be really time consuming, I truly believe it is worth all the effort - you get to know the yarn so well and dive into the project without any unpleasant surprises waiting.I can't wait to share this sweater with you, hopefully next week I'll publish FO post! And of course, lovely WAK team is preparing a great giveaway for you!!! Always so amazing to get your happy messages when you win some yarn goodness here!
Have a wonderful Sunday! Thank you for reading!
