Wool Gatherings

YOTH Yarns. Daughter. The Gift Of KnittingHappy Wednesday! I hope you had a wonderful start of the week and had some time to devote to your projects. I have been working on projects with YOTH yarns for more than a month now, you should have seen my table - it was piled with countless swatches of all kinds. Finally I've put together a pattern that I am looking forward to seeing how it turns out, so far everything is still at the messy WIP stage. Daughter yarn is so lovely to work with, the mix of merino and rambouillet make the thread alive.YOTH Yarns. Daughter. The Gift Of KnittingWhile my sweater in Daughter is taking shape, I am already swatching with Father. This is what I understood about myself - to boost the creativity and ideas flow, I need to switch between the fibers, something about the variety of tactile experience inspires me so much. I've got to know Father in Alina cardigan, so for me it is easy to predict right now how it will behave in a new project.YOTH Yarns. Daughter. The Gift Of KnittingThere are different ways I work on a sweater (because it is almost always a sweater :) ) - for grading, swatching, any math I need a quiet space, with no background music nor other distractions. Then when I start the project, it takes me some time to "trust" the direction where it is going and if it feels right and not too many notes has to be taken along the way, I can relax a little bit and watch something along the way. I rarely take my projects out and about and wish I had a chance to do that more.YOTH Yarns. Daughter. The Gift Of KnittingAnd speaking of taking your projects out and about, several weeks ago I got an email from Samantha Brunson, the founder and designer of Sosa Knitwear. If you read me for a long time, you might remember the interview I did with Samantha where she shared the story behind her knitwear brand and her beloved New York City - World Crafters. Samantha. New York, USA. Samantha is starting a very interesting project in New York - *Bobble* Club House, a knitting social club. Each month knitters will gather to work on their projects, binge watch favorite TV shows and movies, chat about yarn and try new fun products from the sponsors!Samantha about the club: "It feels like coming home. You don’t have to explain yourself or come up with awkward small talk. You instantly have a connection. That’s the kind of experience that I want to create with *Bobble*. A home away from home".Sounds like a knitter paradise to me :) The next gathering is 26th of September - you can get all the information about the tickets at bobbleclubhouse.wixsite.com. I can only imagine how amazing it would feel - a cozy room, noisy city behind the windows, a movie and clicking of needles of your fellow knitters. We need more places like that in this world! Anyway, if you are in New York area, you should definitely attend, I am sure it will be a great evening!

I hope you are going to have a beautiful day today!
