Textured Sweater Pattern Preview and Giveaway

Hello, dear friends! I have some news for you! I am happy to announce that my pattern for the textured sweater is almost ready to be published! There are still some things to work through, but I can already give you a sneak peek. I'll provide all the pattern details this Sunday, on the day of the official publication. For now, let me give you a general overview.

textured-sweater-knitting-pattern-21-2-16-4I always had a soft spot for texture and had some ideas how to play with it in a sweater for quiet some time now. I wanted a sweater that is covered in texture, but not overloaded with it. Something that is simple, but yet engaging to knit. After dozens of swatches, sleepless nights and 50 pages of notebook filled with sketching, I finally narrowed down my choice to two textured stitches - one for the body and the other one for the "frame" (neckline, hem and sleeve cuffs).textured-sweater-knitting-pattern-21-2-16-2I also wanted to create a pattern that can be knit in different styles and with different yarn. So, I just had to give it a try myself and knitted two samples. The first beige sample is knit in 100% wool with 0-1" of ease. It is very fitting and the light beautifully plays with texture "bumps".textured-sweater-knitting-pattern-21-2-16-3

The second one is knit in 100% cotton yarn with 5-6" of ease for the relaxed slightly oversize drop shoulder look.

The cotton emphasizes the texture and it turns the project into great spring/summer pullover.

I love how the look of the sweater changes with different colors. In my mind I see it in white, cream, pink, blue, etc. I would be thrilled to see it knit by you in all kinds of shades!

textured-sweater-knitting-pattern-21-2-16-7The sweater is knit in one piece, without a single seam. The pattern is written for worsted/aran weight yarn for the extra cozy look. The pattern is graded for 6 sizes, the size range - 32" - 55" (81.5 - 139 cm) bust measurement. The modeled photos are coming on Sunday.Today I am giving away 3 free copies of the pattern!
