Riviera Skirt. Details.

First FO of 2015 - Riviera Skirt!

Knitting Wool and The GangIt was a pretty fast project that took me only a couple of weeks of afternoon knitting time. Not bad! To be honest I feel kind of sad to cast it off... Pima cotton is so delicious to work with. I didn't want to let it go...So, let's get to the details.Texture. Combination of classic basic stitches creates interesting fabric and keeps you engaged while knitting. I know a lot of knitters love the look of the seed stitch, but are not particularly fond of knitting it. This pattern offers you 2 in 1 - you get the texture of the seed stitch, which is interrupted my good old all time favorite stockinette stitch.Knitting Wool and The GangColor. I was literally "chasing" these pink stripes on my knitting way. They are so addictive - you just want to keep knitting and knitting to see how they bloom on the fabric. And, again, the seed stitch central panel creates beautifully blurred effect.Knitting Wool and The GangModifications. As I have mentioned before, I went down with the needles size - from 5mm to 3.5mm. The waist band was knit on 3mm needles to give the skirt more fitted look.Knitting Wool and The GangOverall I am very happy with the result and can't wait to put on my very first knitted skirt! I feel like I'll be wearing it a lot this spring and summer. My friend and I snapped some pictures of me wearing a skirt this weekend. Gosh, it was quiet an experience! We walked for an hour in a desert carrying along all these crazy stuff you need for a photoshoot, were interrogated by a property guard and almost got lost on the way back, as it was getting really dark. Anyway, more about it later :)Knitting Wool and The Gang

Thank you, Wool and The Gang, for this wonderful knitting experience!

I hope you had a lovely weekend!

Zeta, Happy Birthday again!
