My Fall KAL

On October 15th started a new fun KAL/CAL organized by Andi - My Fall KAL. It is devoted to this wonderful time of a year when the temperatures get cooler and knitting gets hotter. KAL is not limited only to knitting projects. If you are a weaver, crocheter, spinner - jump right in!My first project for the KAL will be something-I-do-not-know-what-yet, but definitely out of this yarn.hand dyed yarn I think the colors are so perfectly "fallish"! I got this yarn during my first weeks in San Miguel and I cannot be more excited about it! Just swatching with it was such a great tactile experience. Not only the colors change, but also the thickness of yarn - it goes from very tightly spun, I would guess fingering weight thread, to fluffy DK-thick bumps.hand dyed yarn The uneven thread creates a gorgeous texture that is perfect for simple stockinette. I think the "busier" the yarn, the simpler the stitch should be to show it off properly. The most difficult thing is to figure out the gauge, as the stitches are so uneven.hand dyed yarn After knitting a big swatch, I couldn't decide which side will be the right one - both purl and knit look great. I am still not 100% sure, but I think I will go for the purl one. The colors are slightly blurred on the wrong side and it looks like a painter's palette where he mixes the colors to get just the right shade for his masterpiece.hand dyed yarn

I am so inspired and excited to dive into this new knitting adventure!

I hope you are enjoying this weekend spending it with dear ones and enjoying the things that you love !
