Starting this week I am sharing with you the knitwear reviews from 4 major fashion weeks, season spring/summer 2020. I am starting with New York that was so generous with knitwear fashion this year. Many designers decided to skip the runway and created beautiful lookbooks.
TSE, Shaina Mote and M. Patmos made timeless knitwear – classic shapes, neutral colors and beautiful materials.
Theory created one of the most beautiful looks in my opinion – I just love how they combined knitwear fabric with a classic suit.
Eco materials and unconventional shapes were characteristic of Lauren Manoogian collection. I recommend looking through an entire lookbook here – Lauren Manoogian SS 2020 – such an inspiration!
M.Patmos added fun details and pops of color to their neutrals.
Knit and crochet dresses appeared in Vince, Eckhaus Latta, Oscar de La Renta, A.L.C., Herve Leger, Linder, Zimmermann, Jonathan Simkhai, Lela Rose, Helmut Lang, Dion Lee collections – neutrals, stripes, fringe, textile mix – you will find all of that below.
Total color looks by Sally LaPointe, who is continuing the tendency of combining knitwear with other textiles keeping the same color scheme.
One of my favorite looks created were when knitwear top is pared with unusual skirt/pants. This contrast is such a great design feature. See below looks by Theory, Alejandra Alonso, Adam Lippes, Sally LaPointe, Ryan Roche and Zero + Maria Cornejo.
I hope you enjoyed this review and found some inspiring details!
