Friday Knitting Inspiration. Vika Gorenco.

Does it happen to you when you look at a finished knitted item and understand that you would never ever talk yourself into wearing something like that, but at the same time you just can’t take your eyes off it? This is exactly how I felt when I saw the works of Ukrainian fashion designer Vika Gorenco. These knits are more like art pieces that are to inspire to experiment and open new knitting horizons.

The collection is extravagant and edgy, but at the same time very airy and feminine. Lots of long slipped stitches and bobbles with combination of light lace weight yarn, create incredible visual effect!

Vica is playing with classic silhouettes, but uses a completely unique, original and creative approach.

Next week Friday Inspiration will be taken over by World Crafters series. I’ll show you a cozy yarn boutique and introduce you to its lovely owner who had a courage to take a road, “the one less traveled by”.

Have a great creative weekend!

I love that last pic. Great photography using a graffiti covered and run down building with such feminine dresses. Jason Lanier did pics like that in New Orleans https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3UektPtuK4Q. Thanks for sharing these beautiful creations.

Beautiful designs, but not something I can ever see myself in, they just don’t work in the world I live in.

This is exactly how I felt. Beautiful, but unfortunately unwearable for me. But no less inspiring!
