Friday Knitting Inspiration. Honor Fitzsimons.

Honor Fitzsimons, a young Irish knitwear designer and a graduate of Central Saint Martins, has been working with such brands as Louise Goldin (London), Diane Von Furstenburg (New York), Lucy & Bart (Amsterdam), Qasimi Homme London, and Peachoo + Krejberg (Paris) before starting her own knitwear brand in 2012.

Honor learned to knit from her grandmother who was constantly working on traditional aran sweaters. The designer is definitely influenced by the traditional knitwear, but likes to use innovative techniques, “inventive construction and conceptual use of color”.

All brand’s collection are produced in Ireland and all the yarns are sourced in European Union. Honor is working hard juggling the roles of a head designer, dealing with finances, PR, online marketing and employees.

Have a great fiber-full weekend!

Interesting knits, but they don’t tempt me as some of the other knits you’ve shown us have. I think it’s the strong contrasts of colour that I’m uncomfortable with. The textures are certainly very intriguing.

These knits are definitely not on my “wish” list, I am also drawn to more textured/neutral textiles. Still for me it’s always fascinating to see all kinds of forms of knitwear!

I agree with the other commenter who said that they are not a favourite amongst those that you have shared. I agree they are ‘interesting’ and it is always intriguing to see what can be produced with fibre. Food for thought 😉

I just love the details of these pieces! These tiny speckles of texture woven into the main fabric won my heart 🙂

these are so beautiful, and so wearable! I love how it’s simultaneously super original, but look like something I’d happily wear in my real life. Very cool!

I also love how the designer played with the fabric, but kept the traditional “wearable” shapes!
