I am always fascinated with how flexible knitting is and in how many shapes and forms it can transform. A simple piece of thread can become anything your imagination allows. There are no limits, no rules, no borders. Your hands and mind are free to play! Isabel Berglund, a danish textile designer, breaks all the traditional concepts of what knitting is.

Her work is a mixture of fashion, art and design, completely devoid of boundaries. Isabel got her master’s from Central Saint Martins College of Fashion and Textile, London.

She took part in countless art and fashion exhibitions all over the world bringing her unique vision of the world expressed by knit stitches.

“My inspiration comes from everyday life, people, words and objects. I work on projects that relate to the body and the border between function and abstract thinking, hard and soft, the recognizable and unexpected. I find it interesting to work with everyday objects that are put together with puns and concepts. Part of my work is about creating a dialogue between the story I see in the concrete object and the story that I will make with the sculpture.” Isabel Berglund

I am absolutely fascinated by this fiber artist! Make sure to check Isabel’s website for more inspiration www.isabelberglund.dk. Get ready to be surprised and inspired!

P.S. Next week  Friday Inspiration series will be taken over by World Carfters! We will meet with a very inspiring, kind, absolutely magical girl that will take us to St. Petersburg!

Have a great creative weekend!
