Friday Inspiration. I Love Mr Mittens.

They say there are three things you can watch forever – running water, burning fire and how other people work. It’s not totally true about me though. I’d say I can look forever at running water, burning fire and knitwear photography. There is something about the texture of knitwear that immediately draws me in. I love to see the styling of knitwear pieces, the stitch definition, the color combinations…

I must admit I am guilty of spending too much time browsing beautiful photography of knitwear by different designers. I could spend this time actually making the knitwear, but it is such an indulgence for me that I can’t help myself!

I treat myself to it on weekends and free evenings. Everybody has his weaknesses, right? 🙂

This week I was admiring chunky knitwear by Australian knitwear brand I Love Mr Mittens. Stéphanie Caulier, originally from Belgia, creates cozy knits with her team of local university students and retired pensioners. I absolutely love this idea! We all know that it’s a real challenge for this particular group of people to find work and Stéphanie gives them a great opportunity to put their knowledge and skills in good use.

Stéphanie doesn’t have the special design education, but her love for work and knitwear allows her to create beautiful pieces that are in demand all over the world. Truly inspiring woman!

You should absolutely check brand’s website www.ilovemrmittens.com and Instagram feed @ilovemrmittens. I am sure after 10 minutes spent there, your hands will reach for the needles and yarn, it’s really contagious 🙂

Have a great creative weekend!

I have the same weakness when it comes to knitwear, that is why my pinterest board is added to almost daily.
    Have a beautiful weekend.

Thank you, Tracey! I still didn’t get to Pinterest properly. I guess I am afraid, if I do I will be gone forever 🙂 Have a great weekend!

Lots of knitters have been lost in Pinterest, Instagram and Ravelry!!!!! 😀 Searching for a new pattern or inspiration can take hours and hours away from our needles!

It’s ridiculous, but I actually set up a timer when browsing the pictures! So I would have at least some time limits 🙂

I guess looking at the work of others is such an essential part of developing your own taste and preferences in knitwear! So, it’s quiet productive, at least that’s how I justify myself 🙂
