Moments 14/20. Quarantine.

I was saving the first Moments post of the 2020 for something special, something that I will want to remember. Now I believe we will all remember these weird times and moments – weeks spent in the state of uncertainty, fear and hope that it will all be over soon and we´ll be OK. My days abruptly changed from packed with events, meetings, deadlines and never ending email threads to quiet and low-key moments at home and nature. I still work, I would say even more right now than before quarantine, handling tasks for which I never had time and space before, but now my pace is different. I think like everyone else out there I have my moments of fear when the future looks uncertain and bleak, but I keep repeating to myself – That will pass too. I have been through storms in my life that seemed like a deadlock and I always came out of them and when looking back, I was grateful for them for teaching me something about myself that I would have never discovered if not for these bumps in the world. I hope you also find comfort in these quarantine days that will definitely become a history lesson of the humankind.

Living in a place that thrives on the tourism industry, we are definitely hit hard, but there is one advantage to all this – gorgeous natural spots that are now completely empty and ready to be explored. I went to my “secret” beach that very few people know how to access and enjoyed a long walk with zero people in sight. It was breathtaking. I hope you will enjoy it as much as I did and it will bring some sunshine into your life. Stay safe and healthy.

I hope you will have a wonderful week!

The moments of beauty I am lucky to witness and share here…

The last week of the year and the decade. All I can say is “thank you” that I am still here, that I keep growing more and more into me, thank you for the inspiration and ideas, thank you for people and everyday business and craziness of my life. Today I am sharing with you some golden hour moments I was blessed to catch on one afternoon. I hope this year has brought you many moments that you are thankful for.

Thank you for being here! I’ll see you soon with more knitting and projects!

Moments 41/19

I have a new working week routine that is helping me to stay focused and feel like my days are full, meaningful and conscious. Doesn’t it happen to you sometimes that you feel like you are in the race, trying to keep up with all the responsibilities and just barely holding your head above the water? And at the end of the day you feel like the life was sucked out of you. I had a few months like this and realized that I need to do something about it.

Now I wake up long before dawn, have a light breakfast, knit, work on the website, go to the gym, train hard just concentrating on the movements and counting the reps – no music, no phone, no emails, just me time. There is something so much more beyond physical changes, there is something going on inside of me during these sessions that makes me stronger in all senses of this word; I end up these sessions with 30 min of moderate cardio listening to inspiring audiobooks. For months I have been feeling guilty of not reading as much as I used to just because there is physically no time during my days to sit down and just enjoy a few pages. I know it is the question of priority, there is always at least 10 minutes in the day to devote to things that really matter to you. But now I’ve found the perfect balance – it is really a form of meditation of getting my headphones on, moving slowly and listening to people’s thoughts that stir something bigger inside of me. And only then it is the office and the usual day routine time. So far I am very happy with these changes, it is so important to listen to yourself and find what makes you happy.

During my weekends I treat myself to good food, my favorite people and just life as it is. This weekend was full of inspiring conversations, that revived my dreams that I put on hold in the back of my mind because they seemed way too wild to become true one day. So grateful and inspired!

As for knitting, I am working on the pattern draft for a sweater and have a new project on the needles that I will be able to share with you soon.

Moments. 38/19

knitting blog and knitting patterns

I am adding these beautiful moments to my collection today from my trip I had to take a couple of weeks ago to Guadalajara. In between some errands I had to run in the city, I took advantage of the glorious weather and spent my days walking, exploring and just savoring each moment. It was such a great break from the routine back at home and I came back rejuvenated and full of energy again. I am listening right now Willpower Doesn’t Work, and the author emphasizes how important it is to get out of your established life and disconnect.

I hope you enjoy these snaps of the city, good food and details that make me happy and have a wonderful start to your weekend!

Moments 33/19

Knitting blog

My Moments this week consisted of hard word, long walks, discovering new places and flavors and knitting in between all of that. I love how my sweaters become “tags” in my life, each one is associated with places, events, people, flavors. It is better than any photo album for me.

This week, while working on a new knit, I discovered a cozy vegan cafe in my neighborhood, where you can see love in every single detail. I used to be vegan myself in my early twenties, but to be honest it didn’t work for me, the biggest reason for it being that I am completely inadequate in the kitchen and I lack any kind of food related imagination. But this place blew my mind with all their original and oh so delicious recipes. Oatmeal cooked with coconut milk with coconut flakes, banana, berries and almond butter; unsweetened matcha with chocolate all natural energy ball, various acai bowls, smoothies and so on. Now it is one of my favorite breakfast places, it opens early, so I can have my blissful hour here before heading to the office.

This week was generous to me with these beautiful moments on the secluded rocky beach, pink sunset light, salt in my hair, sand under my feet and feeling blessed to be living close to such gorgeous places. It will never cease to amaze me how lucky I am to call this place a home.

My knitting moments were scarce, unfortunately. It’s been a busy week at work and the only thing that I had energy for is to go to bed early, read a little bit and sleep. But nonetheless, this sweater is growing on my needles in a pretty steady pace. Daughter by YOTH yarns is such a joy to knit with, I am looking forward to seeing how it will open up after blocking!
