Swatches

I am sorry I've missed Friday post, we had to go to the nearby town to get my camera checked. I still hope somebody will be able to bring it back to life! Though blogging stopped for several days, knitting did not! If you are following me on Instagram you might have noticed that my feed is slowly turning into grey and white. The reason for this is my current WIP.Hand knit grey cardiganI've been savouring this yarn for quiet some time. You can remember my post on it several weeks ago. I love it so much that I am driven by the idea to create something absolutely special that would make justice to this yarn. So, I started to swatch, more than four weeks ago, to be precise. Yes, I've been swatching for weeks postponing the actual cast on! The reason for this is that I am pretty unfamiliar with the fiber, it is the first time I am working with wool/silk blend and I love it so much that I want to squeeze the maximum out of it! The problem for me is that I am a very visual person. I always admire people who can see the picture in their head, put in on paper, sit down and create exactly what they imagined. Never happens to me. Before I see it, I can't figure out whether I like it or not. I am not sure how many swatches have been knit, reknit, ripped out, put away, taken out, ripped out and knit again... I tried 4 different needle sizes, countless stitch combinations and did more math during these 4 weeks than in my university years.Hand knit grey cardiganWell, after all these swatching the yarn seems absolutely perfect for simple good all stockinette and garter border :) But I am still hoping to find this special stitch that will make this project to bloom! So, back to my swatches stack!Hand knit cardigan

I hope you had a lovely weekend!
