Reindeer From the Woods

I would love to start this post with a huge "Thank you!" for all the support I got from you this week! Thank you for your sweet comments! I feel pretty overwhelmed seeing Reindeer appearing in so many queues! I am so touched by your enthusiasm about it! Thank you from the bottom of my heart! Can't wait to see your projects taking shape!!!I decided to cast on one more Reindeer along with you! First of all, I really want to enjoy the pattern :) When you write a pattern, keeping meticulous notes of every single little thing that you do with your needles, constantly counting numbers and ripping out dozens of time, the knitting fun is basically gone :) But it surely feels nice to take a finished pattern, cast on and knit away without worrying about all these things! The other reason is the yarn. I had these skeins in my stash for more than a year now (or two? I am losing track of the age of my stash) and I was always admiring this amazing shade of green.cable cardigan patternAfter trying a swatch with it, I understood that it is the perfect skein for the project! I love how smooth and even the stitches are and the swatch opened up the shade of green even more. Such a deep color! Green is one of my favorite shades, but for some reason I don't have a single item in my wardrobe in this color! Now I will!cable cardigan patternThe texture and stitch definition created by the yarn is just mesmerizing! I can stare at it forever! Cables are absolutely delicious!cable cardigan patternSo, I am joining you in a Reindeer ride :) I am calling the project Reindeer From the Woods, inspired by Rūta's Ice Reindeer name.cable cardigan patternSpeaking of the woods... I am coming back to fiction reading. My choice is "Norwegian Wood" by Haruki Murakami. I read the novel a long time ago, back in my university years. I can't remember the plot at all, just the feeling of a very well-written and elegiac novel...

I am joining Yarn Along to see what other crafters have on their needles/crochet hooks and book shelves.

Have a great week!
