Adiós is the monthly series of crafty notes and captures of this beautiful world.
The last month of summer is over… And for me it’s been like a short lifetime. So many changes happened, so many new roads have been taken. As we slowly settle down in our new place, I get used to the world around me – to the rustle of leaves, the smell of rain and the crackling of fire at nights…
August Crafty Notes:
August knit/crochet stack
August FO. Chunky Chevron Crochet blanket. My only FO of this month became really handy during the cool evenings. It’s so cozy that I fall asleep under it almost every evening while reading a book 🙂 I am trying to find time to finally sit down and give you all the numbers that I used to make this blanket. It’s not that easy as my notes are hectic scribbles on different pieces of paper.
August WIPs. Flax sweater. I am finally making something for my husband! Looking forward to learning new techniques! I hope to finish it before
Other projects are not really WIPs yet, as a lot of experimenting going on. I love these grey shades of merino wool!
August’s World Crafter
After a long break, I came back to one of my favorite series. Each interview is so inspiring! Though I do spend a lot of time on them, I feel like I get energized and creative after each interview for weeks and weeks! They combine my two greatest passions – craft and travel. Looking at wonderful creations and “visiting” different corners of the world with inspiring crafters makes me so happy! I am so thrilled to share this experience with you! This month I fell in love with Olga – an inspiring modern knitter from one of the most beautiful cities of the world!
Technique of the month
Starting with this Adiós I am going to share with you amazing tutorials that I came across during the month and found really helpful. I think it’s so fascinating to learn something new each month and get better in our craft. This tutorial has been around for quiet some time – How To Knit Seamless Set-in Sleeves From The Top Down. If you haven’t seen it yet – go ahead! Very detailed step-by-step instructions are illustrated with clear pictures.
I love the shape of a set-in sleeve, I think it looks flattering on all body types. But it can be a real challenge to actually set this sleeve in the armhole impeccably. I also struggled for quiet some time with the sleeve length. This problem will be completely gone as I can try the sleeve on and check the length. I am excited to try this technique this month!
I hope you had a wonderful and inspiring August!
